Food Donations for the TE Meal

Thank you to all of you who signed up at the kiosk this past weekend and filled in the empty slots to bring mashed potatoes, stuffing and pies. The generosity of all who have signed up to donate food for the Turkey Eve Meal is much appreciated.

For those of you who have signed up to bring pies, we are needing any flavor of pies, we just ask if they contain any kind of nuts that the pie be labeled that they contain nuts. Pies are to be in a disposable pie pan.

Both the mashed potatoes and stuffing are to be in 9"x13" disposable pans.

All food items need to be delivered to Atonement on Wednesday, Nov 25th before 4:00pm.

TE is Less Than Two Weeks Away

With the Turkey Eve Meal on Metcalf less than two weeks away, we still have openings for volunteer opportunities and food donations.

If you are still looking for a way to help out or to contribute to the meal, please check out the TE Sign-up Kiosk in the narthex or email Maryann at maryann@atoneluth.org.

We are specifically needing some people who speak Spanish to help communicating with our Hispanic guests.

The Thanksgiving Cornucopia

One of the most recognizable symbols of Thanksgiving is the cornucopia (pronounced korn-yoo-KO-pee-uh), also called horn of plenty. It is a decorative motif, originating in ancient Greece, that symbolizes abundance. The original cornucopia was a curved goat's horn filled to overflowing with fruit and grain.

A PRAYER FOR NOVEMBER

Lord Jesus, teach us to be generous;
teach us to serve you as you deserve,
to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wounds,
to toil and not to seek for rest,
to labor and not to seek reward,
except that of knowing that we do your will.
Amen.
-St. Ignatius Loyola

In the spirit of Ignatius, may we be generous to others and thankful for all that you have given us.
